Hello all, this holiday blog post is inspired by Belle’s hair style from Beauty & The Beast. I’ve created a nine minute video tutorial. It includes details of the brushes and colors used. It is edited in a step by step process that you can follow along. The brush packs appeared in this tutorial are Essential Hair Set, and Pretty Ribbons. You can download the sketch at the bottom of this page. As a special holiday gift, I’ve included a sample brush pack of 7 Pretty Ribbons. This will be available for download until January 15th, 2026.

Changing Hair Colors
Here is how I changed the colors for the artwork samples I made below. After finish drawing the blond hair version, I flattened all the hair layers together (exclude the bow). Then used the Adjustments tool / Hue, Saturation, Brightness. You can play with these 3 adjustment bars to get to the colors you want. I added more shadow and lighting effect afterward to get a more saturated look.

Procreate Essential Hair Brushes
This brush pack has been my holy grail for many years since I started digital portrait drawing. Sometimes, we got lost in a brush pack of hundreds of brushes that we don’t know how to use. This one has 32 brushes and a hair color palette included. Not too many but there are variety of hair textures that are important. It is easy to use if you know which brush use for what. So I made a couple tutorials to show you how I use the brushes already. You can find the Youtube tutorials in the product’s listing description.
Procreate Pretty Ribbons Brushes
This Procreate brush pack has 100 realistic ribbon brushes. There are various prints, and textures including metallic, satin, organza, and grosgrain ribbons. Popular fashion prints and woven patterns include dots, checks, plaids, stripes, laces, Moiré, Damask, leopard, paisley etc. Each brush has a high resolution and is close to realistic look! Most brush follow the grain texture direction, and the flow twists naturally. If you notice, many of them has a 3D texture appeared at the edge, making it looks so real! 🤩 I also made a tutorial for you to adjust the brushes for your needs. It includes how to adjust for dual and rainbow color hue. It also shows how to adjust brushes for basic pressure sensitivity and for lettering work. Last but not least, it includes how to draw a bow and add a shadow. This video tutorial is accessible with a link to my Vimeo included. There are two packs for you to choose: full pack of 100 brushes, and a mini pack of 25 brushes.
Full pack: 100 Procreate Pretty Ribbon brushes.
