It’s that time of the year! 🍁⛄️ Every Fall – Winter, there are new Procreate brushes released from my atelier. As usual, I’m excited to share my new brush collections to everyone. I have been developing new ideas, new brush styles, and new tutorials. I hope you are looking forward to this as much as I do! I’d like to take this opportunity to thank some of my customers from California, The Middle East, and India who reached out to me in Summer and asked if I have anything new coming out soon. Here are the first collection: Gold Woven Trims Vol. 1 and Gold Woven Trims Vol.2
Procreate Gold Woven Trims Vol. 1
This brush collection was inspired by gold work, filigree, and gold thread embroidery techniques. This haute couture technique is exquisite! It’s quite interesting to explore. I designed these brushes into two volumes. You can get one or both of them according to your need.
In each volume, there are two brush textures: metallic and silk. You can use these brushes for anything. I created some artwork samples in the product’s pages to showcase the lettering, jewelry, and fashion illustration. If you would like to share your designs with me, please tag me on the Instagram @fashionworkshop.bkk or send me photos by email fashionworkshop.bkk@gmail.com and I will share them with everyone in the story. 😃
The most challenging thing you may find while using these brushes is probably controlling the pressure sensitivity. I practice this so long so please don’t be discouraged if you don’t get the desired result in the beginning. I recommend practicing by playing or drawing random leafs. Begin with a very light touch on the screen. Then slowly press harder. Lightly press again before lifting the stylus.
You must use an Apple Pencil Gen 1 or higher with these brushes to pressure sensitive mode.
Procreate Gold Woven Trims Vol. 2
Let’s dive into the tutorials!
Little Black Dress with Gold Damask Embroidery
The techniques I used to draw all three tutorials are very akin to one another. When you draw the trims, try not to overlap them in the same layer. To avoid over shine, always add a new layer above before adding new trims on top of the existing ones. You may want to group them together once each section of the design is done. When you move the trims around, it may get blurry. Use the Sharpen tool to correct it. However, you should not sharpen it too many times since it will get to grainy eventually.
Most tools I used are in the Adjustments (the magic wand): for making shadow, Gaussian Blur, Changing colors, Sharpen, Push (Liquify).
All the shine and sparkles are from Shining Stars brush pack.
Pink Cocktail Dress with Silk Woven Trims
For this tutorial, it features the Silk Woven Trim textured brushes. This delicate and soft look is giving a very different mood from the metallic ones. You can use them to add over another fabric textures as you wish. I use the Sweet Tulles brushes in this tutorial. In the end, I added the metallic textured brushes to create some jewelry to complete the look.
Ballgown with Gold Woven Trims
This gown is more challenging! Give yourself a try! The main focus of this dress is the gold foliage pattern. If you are not confident, do a quick pencil draft first. This will help you develop an idea before executing the design. I drew main branches for directions. Then add leafs along the branches. For the crystals, I use the brush from my Fashion Beading brush set.

Have fun designing⚜️
